BiodiversiTrek - Torre Guaceto Reserve

Duration: 6 hours - 12 km - Cost: €18.00 adults - €12.00 children (8-12 years).

The Torre Guaceto Reserve is a place where land and water merge and intersect, creating a unique territory where man and nature have found a rare balance.
The trail will cross the entire coastal strip, which, between dunes and backdunes, delineates a series of natural environments rich in beauty.
We will reach the green Mediterranean scrub, where fragrant paths open up through the dense shrubby vegetation: Nonno Gino, the ancient juniper tree, will be waiting for us on the trails to tell us about the delicate balance between leaves and animals of the scrub.
We will continue our journey with our eyes fixed on the horizon, following the coastline that outlines sandy coves and rocky peninsulas and getting to know the sea and the inhabitants of the marine protected area.
The ancient Torre Guaceto awaits us overlooking the sea, and admiring its archaeological exhibits will allow us to travel through time and space: from the Bronze Age, through the Roman period, to the Middle Ages, and up to the present day.
We will then reach the internationally important wetland, consisting of a vast reed bed that provides shelter and nourishment for reptiles, amphibians, and both resident and migratory birds.
In the summer months, a swimming break is available along the route.
During the route, we will stop on the beach for a self-prepared picnic lunch in the countryside.
